Recruitment of Junior Commission Officer (JCO) (Religious Teacher) in Army RRT Courses 88, 89 and 90

Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) (Religious Teacher) for RRT 88, 89 and 90 courses in the Indian Army who fulfil the following eligibility criteria.
About JCO Religious Teacher
Religion is a very important part of every Indian. Religion provides great strength to soldiers in difficult times. Each unit has its Mandir/Masjid/Church. There is a requirement of candidates who are conversant with the scriptures and who can carry out the ceremonies in the religious places.
Religious Teachers preach religious scriptures to troops and conduct various rituals at Regimental/ Unit religious institutions. Their duties also include attending funerals, ministering to the sick in hospitals, reading prayers with the convalescents, visiting soldiers undergoing sentence, giving special religious instructions to the children and enlisted boys besides attending generally to the religious institutions and welfare of the Officers, Soldiers and their families.

- JCO Religious Teacher: 152 vacancies in RRT 88, 89 and 90 courses
- Pandit: 118 vacancies
- Pandit (Gorkha): 07 vacancies for Gorkha Regiments
- Granthi: 09 vacancies
- Maulvi (Sunni) : 09 vacancies
- Maulvi (Shia): 01 vacancy for Ladakh Scouts
- Padre: 04 vacancies
- Bodh Monk (Mahayana) : 04 vacancies for Ladakh Scouts
- Age : 25-34 years as on 01/10/2020.
- Physical Standard: As applicable to the regular army [Height-155cm, Weight-50Kg, Chest - 77 cm, Candidate should be able to run one mile in eight minutes.
- Pay Scale: JCO will get the pay scale of Naib Subedar of Rs. 9300-34800/- (pre-revised)
- Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university and religious qualification as
- Pandit and Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment - Hindu candidates with Acharya in Sanskrit OR Shastri in Sanskrit with one-year diploma in „Karam Kand‟.
- Granthi. Sikh candidates with „Gyani‟ in Punjabi.
- Maulvi and Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts - Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic or Adib Alim in Urdu.
- Padre - Any person who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
- Bodh Monk (Mahayana) - Any person who have been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority.
