The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2011 on 12th June, 2011 for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and certain other Group 'A' and Group 'B' Central Services/ Posts. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

• Eligibility Conditions: 
• Age Limit: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st August 2011. The Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes and Certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the notice.
• Educational Qualifications: Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Combined Defence Service Examination (I), 2011 on 13.02.2011 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy for the Courses commencing in January 2012 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the Courses (Men and Women) commencing in April, 2012:

• Conditions of Eligibility:
• For Indian Military Academy: Unmarried Male candidate born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January 1993, only are eligible.
• For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1990 (2nd January, 1988 in case of NCC Naval Wing 'C' Certificate holders) and not later than 1st January 1993 only are eligible.
• For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1993 only are eligible.
• For Officers Training Academy (SSC Course for Men): Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 and not later than 1st January, 1993 only are eligible.
• For Officers Training Academy -SSC (Women Non-Technical Course): Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not ealier than 2nd January 1987 and not later than 1st January 1993.
• Education Qualification:
• For Indian Military Academy and Officers' Training Academy: Degree of a Recognized University or equivalent.
• For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering.
• For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
