Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an annual recruitment examination (Now it has become Computer Based Online Combined All India Open Recruitment Examination) for recruitment to the various Government Job vacancy posts of Junior Engineers Group-B (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract) in various Central Government Departments viz. Central Water Commission (CWC), Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Department of Posts, Military Engineering Service (MES), Department of Post, Farrakka Barrage (Project), Director General Border Roads Organisation (BRO), National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), Central Water Power Research Station and Directorate Of Quality Assurance (Naval) etc.
Details of the Junior Engineer Exam 2019 vacancies
The Junior Engineer vacancies have been advertised by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) as per the Indents submitted by the respective Indenting Departments/ Offices of Government of India. - Central Public Works Department (CPWD) - Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical)
- Department of Posts - Junior Engineer (Civil)
- Military Engineer Services (MES) - Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Quantity Surveying/Contracts)
- Farakka Barrage Project - Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)
- Border Road Organization - Junior Engineer (Civil)
- Central Water and Power Research Station - Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)

- National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) - Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)
- Age Limit : 18 to 30/32 years as on 01/01/2020 for different departments, Relaxation in age as per rules.
- Educational Qualification : Degree/ Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an institution recognized by Govt. of India or equivalent qualification.
- Pay Scale : Level-6 Rs.35400-112400/- of pay matrix of 7th CPC
SSC Jr. Engineer Exam 2019 Fee
Rs. 100/- in to be paid on or before 14/09/2019 Online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan. No fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Women and Ex-servicemen candidates.
SSC Jr. Engineer Examination Scheme
The Examination will consist of two papers i.e. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination)and Paper-II (Descriptive Type). Dates of the recruitment examination will be announced later.
- Paper-I - Objective Type of 2 hour duration of 200 marks
- (i) General Intelligence and Reasoning
- (ii) General Awareness
- (iii) Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or
- Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) or
- Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)
- Paper-II - Descriptive Type of 2 hours consists of 300 marks
- Part-A General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or
- Part-B General Engineering (Electrical) or
- Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)
