PSUs line up at Top Academic Campuses for recruitment
But the candidates who were left at some less fortunate academic institutes felt neglected and cheated and took the issue to the court. The High Court ruled to stop this practice and then PSUs stayed away from the campus interviews to select suitable candidates.
PSUs again started at campuses
But for last 1-2 years, PSUs have once again started to select the candidates from the campuses. The number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) lining up to take part in Campus placements has seen a sharp rise this year. Almost all major Top Academic institute like IITs have more than double the number of PSUs both Maharatnas and Navratnas queuing up to participate in the recruitment process that begins on December 1. Later on ISRO, DRDO and Navy will also join the process.
At IIT-Kharagpur, the country's oldest IIT, the number of PSUs confirming participation has gone up from four last year to 13 this year. Some of the big names include Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL, and BEL.
